Located roughly equidistant between two the two major Western New York cities of Buffalo and Rochester, Medina is a small village with a population of less than 6,000, but with so much to offer. In the past, the presence of the Erie Canal helped Medina to thrive as an industrial hotspot, known in particular for the manufacturing of Medina Sandstone. Over recent years, the area has become a growing tourist destination as a stop along the Niagara Wine Trail, with many visitors also taking time to explore its downtown historic district. The village is home to several prominent businesses, family-owned bars and restaurants, and public park lands. Residents can also take advantage of Medina's low cost of living to enjoy a number of annual festivals, local art projects, and entertainment opportunities.
